How Tarot19 readings work
Every reading begins with the same complete 78-card deck and a spread chosen before the draw. The position gives each card a specific question, keeping the result focused enough to use.
One complete deck
Tarot19 uses 22 Major Arcana and 56 Minor Arcana across four fourteen-card suits. A reading draws from the full deck unless a page explicitly describes a smaller reference set.
Interactive card selection
Cards are drawn without replacement, so the same card cannot occupy two positions in one reading. Reversals are optional; when they are off, every card is read upright.
The card of the day
The card of the day is one shared upright card for the current UTC date. It changes with the day, while interactive readings remain separate draws.
Birth-card calculation
The birth-card tool follows The Tarot School's date reduction for Gregorian dates from 1900 through 2099. It adds month, day, century and two-digit year. A two-digit total reduces by adding its digits; for a three-digit total, the first two digits are added to the last. If that still exceeds 21, reduce again before choosing a pair. A single-digit result is paired with its two-digit Major Arcana partner, while 19 follows 19, 10 and 1. Justice is XI and Strength VIII in the Rider–Waite–Smith ordering used here.
Birth-card systems sometimes choose different reductions. The result shows its own steps so you can compare the convention used.
How interpretations are composed
First read each card through its named position. Then compare repeated suits, related keywords, contrasts, and the direction of the spread before writing one short synthesis.
Close the reading
Summarize the cards in one sentence, record the question that stands out, and choose a practical next step.
