How Tarot19 readings work
Tarot19 separates card selection, reviewed content, spread structure, and interpretation templates so each part can be inspected and tested. No remote service writes or predicts a reading at request time.
A finite, versioned deck
The product uses exactly 78 cards: 22 Major Arcana and 56 Minor Arcana across four fourteen-card suits. Card IDs and slugs are stable, while meaning revisions receive a content version and editorial review date.
Interactive card selection
Interactive readings use a cryptographically secure platform source and draw without replacement. When reversals are enabled, orientation is selected independently after the card; disabling reversals makes every card upright.
The card of the day
The daily card is deterministic rather than random on every visit. The UTC date, deck version, and a versioned site seed produce one upright card for the day, making the selection stable and testable.
How interpretations are composed
Every card meaning and reflection prompt comes from reviewed local records. A spread position selects the relevant lens, and deterministic connector rules summarize repeated or contrasting themes without asserting hidden facts.
Questions remain private by default
A question is optional, is not needed to select cards, and is not included in titles, metadata, analytics, or a share URL. The raw MVP does not store reading or question history server-side.
Editorial and evidence boundary
Historical claims are checked against named references. Interpretive meanings are clearly presented as symbolic traditions and original editorial synthesis, not as scientific findings, diagnoses, professional advice, or guaranteed forecasts.
